L. Brent the Third

Right wing political and religious extremist, L. Brent Bozell III, controls the dubiously named Media Research Center. Under the guise of countering liberal media biasTM, Bozell spreads right wing propaganda.

Today, one of Bozell’s trolls    Brad Wilmouth    has authored an unfortunately named “bias alert” titled

ABC and NBC Celebrate Anniversary of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell Repeal. Therein, Mr. Wilmouth proceeds to document some of the coverage of the one year anniversary of repeal     none of which seems to prove much of anything other than the obvious which is that most of our troops don’t care. They are professionals whose only expectation of fellow service members is that they do their job.

Among other things Wilmouth observes:

NBC correspondent Jim Maceda’s report then focused on placing a positive spin on the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.

To “prove” his point, Wilmouth offers a transcript of Jim Maceda interviewing gay and straight soldiers for whom the repeal has been uneventful. So, all of these military personnel are guilty of spin as well? Perhaps, just maybe, nobody really cared in the first place which was the conclusion of most of the research and, ultimately, the service chiefs and former Secretary of Defense (Bush appointee) Robert Gates.

Then there is that kiss that is driving the mullahs to distraction:

Before running a full report touting the success of repealing Don’t
Ask, Don’t Tell, a year ago, NBC anchor Brian Williams also featured the

In point of fact, Mr. Wilmouth, a year since the repeal of DADT (which had broad public support) the world has not ended. Nor have the armed services seen a massive reduction in re-enlistments. Indeed, the most skeptical of the service chiefs, General Amos of the Marine Corps has conceded that the repeal has been uneventful.

The only bias that I can detect is Mr. Wilmouth’s obvious homophobia. He, and others, are insulting the professionalism and patriotism of our service members.
