Frank Schubert was National Organization for Marriage’s anti-gay campaign manager for the 2008 Proposition 8 contest and Maine’s Question One, the following year. Schubert is credited with crafting the meme that “children will be taught gay marriage in school.” At it’s core, the strategy asserts that gays present a threat to children. After their victory in Maine, in 2009, Schubert claimed that he “broke the back” of the marriage equality movement. Obviously that has not turned out to the be the case.
Perhaps Mr. Schubert became toxic for the business model.
