Christopher Doyle has authored an “apology” in the Christian Post which is nothing more than a thinly veiled promotion of his new website. Doyle is the Liberty University “educated” miscreant who wrote the following in Townhall.com on April 16, 2010 regarding the Day of Silence:
. . . it’s not the LGBT students who are being bullied these days, but the
thousands of young people that have unwanted same-sex attraction (SSA),
the former homosexuals who have changed from gay to straight, and the
researchers and therapists who dare to help them. If anyone is guilty of
bullying, it’s the homosexual activists who are pushing their political
agenda through the mainstream media, medical, and mental health
From today’s piece in the Christian Post:
Two years ago, I wrote an opinion editorial criticizing the Day of Silence, where students, straight and gay, refrain from speaking for the entire school day to highlight the prejudice against lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) youth, and the bullying they often incur . While I still agree with some of the conclusions I made in that piece, I nonetheless said many hurtful and unfair things about organizations that are helping homosexual youth. Looking back today, I regret having said those things and am deeply sorry to anyone that I offended.
Doyle’s new website (acception.info) includes a section titled Resources for Questioning and/or Youth with Unwanted Same-Sex Attraction. There he provides a list of the usual pray-away-the-gay practitioners.
Promoting reorientation “therapy” for children is disgraceful and irresponsible.
We all know that it’s not the kids who are the consumers of this nonsense. Rather, it is the ignorant parent who marches their child into these programs. When the boy or girl fails to change, he or she is punished for not trying hard enough. Eventually, the kid just lies to his or her parents. The damage done to both parents and child can be lifelong. So-called reparative “therapy” is neither safe nor effective.
