By now, we have all heard that one in six Obama bundlers is gay. A bundler is a fundraiser; an influential person who collects contributions from others and then presents the total to the campaign. Here’s Brent Bozell‘s whine:

So Barack Obama declared he’s all for “gay marriage.” Really, was anyone surprised? Did anyone doubt it? Still, it’s official, and Obama is now the rental property of Hollywood. Obama’s doing all sorts of fundraisers with Hollywood and Manhattan millionaires and billionaires to get re-elected, the latest at George Clooney’s mansion. One of every six of his “bundlers” is openly homosexual.

For these people, “Hollywood” means liberal Jews who have too much control of the entertainment industry. Bozell knows exactly what he is saying.

I am only surprised that it is not one in four.

Bozell and the rest of the theocrats drove conservative gays to Obama. No group has more to lose with a Romney presidency than LGBT Americans If Obama is for rent to the “Hollywood” crowd, Romney is for rent to the Christian right who want desperately to turn the United States into a theocracy. If they     and by extension, Mitt     have their way, being gay would be a crime. In fact, Mitt doesn’t have to lease himself out; He is one of them. Just look at what happened to Richard Grenell. Romney is not only a tool of the religious right, the man is a coward.

It was this kind of cowardice that was responsible for Mitt’s loud fuck you to gay GOPers from Liberty University. Yet, the right wing has the balls to complain about the percentage of bundlers who are “openly homosexual.”

Let us also remember that Mitt signed the National Organization for Marriage pledge:

He won’t fulfill the constitutional amendment but the fact that he would pledge to do so is very troubling. Part two is a contradiction in terms since the Constitution includes the Establishment Clause. Moreover, the issue isn’t whether the framers created a right to gay marriage. As slave holders, they would have never considered the proposition in Loving v. Virginia. However, their successors decided that all citizens deserve equal protection under the law. That includes people who some other people don’t like for religious reasons.

Part four (self-victimization) is ridiculous per se and should have precluded Romney from signing the damned thing. In part five he is pledging to take away marriage equality from the District of Columbia. I guess that happens while the constitutional amendment is in the works.
