I purposely unplugged  for a couple of weeks lest I lose all perspective. I just cleared over 7,000 unread articles from my news aggregator. Not much has changed over the last couple of weeks as it is still selective observation that passes for erudition. Christian self-victimization remains the staple of social “conservatives.”

I did, however, author a piece on tax policy and constructive capital gains which obviously has nothing to do with queer nation. I may post that this week since I think that many people do not understand the full effect of the “Bush tax cuts.” They are far more than a few percentage points in the tax code.

Funny, how clearing my head has altered by tastes in music a bit. At least for now, my Baroque fetish has been replaced with Romantic and Modern composers. I purchased some Schumann, John Adams and some Copland that I did not already own.

I am always amazed that staunchly conservative Republicans always cue of the Copland (Palin always marched to the stage with passages from Rodeo and Billy the Kid). Copland was an agnostic Jewish queer who was also a proud communist.

I’m baaaack!

I’ll start to catch up today and tomorrow.
