Rev. Harry Jackson always seems to come up with reasons to explain his many problems with gay people. Townhall.com provides an outlet for his bizarre, incoherent and intellectually dishonest polemics. According to Harry:
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Activists would have us believe that the issue of marriage is about the “rights” and “equality” of homosexuals. But in reality, the push to redefine marriage is about demanding public approval and celebration of homosexuality.
Harry Jackson is a mind reader? Who Knew? Harry: What am I thinking about you right now? Personally, I always thought that marriage equality was about equal protection under the law but what do I know? Harry is opposed to marriage equality because it’s about things other than marriage? Really? So if not for those other things he would be a proponent of marriage equality? Poor Harry.
Harry goes on (or off) to explain that sexual orientation is a bad habit (I think that’s what he is saying). Then of course he resorts to the dog whistle that gays are a threat to children. After all, you good Christians wouldn’t want to take a chance that your kid could “choose” to be gay due to exposure. It’s contagious you know.
… at the end of the day, gamblers want the right to gamble, and smokers want the right to smoke cigarettes. Both groups, however, have accepted the fact that not everyone approves of their choice to do these things. But LGBT activists are not satisfied with being able to “love whomever they want.” California public schools have already altered their curricular requirements to begin mandatory discussion of LGBT lifestyles beginning in Kindergarten. If homosexual marriage becomes the law of the land, you can expect such curriculum mandates to pop up in every state.
Actually that is a big, wet, sloppy whopper (in addition to being patently offensive). California requires the inclusion of the political, economic, and social contributions of persons with disabilities and lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people into history and social studies curricula where applicable. Kindergarten? Please.
Harry and the rest of the bigot brigade better get over it because national marriage equality is inevitable.
