According to Reuters, Roman Catholic Archbishop
Victor Tonye Bakot of Cameroon told followers at Christmas Day mass that “marriage of persons of the same sex is a serious
crime against humanity
.”

Allow me to clue in this schmuck. If there is a crime against humanity in Cameroon, it is the systemic pattern of degradation of LGBT people by the government of this backward country that is abetted by the Catholic Church. This “constitute[s] a serious attack on human dignity or grave humiliation or a degradation of one or more human beings” as defined by the International Criminal Court.

Cameroon’s infant mortality rate is among the worst in the world at 63.34/1000. A third of the women in Cameroon are illiterate. Perhaps the Church should refocus their considerable resources on solving real problems.

Bakot’s comments follow a three-year jail sentence
handed earlier this month to 32-year-old Jean-Claude Roger Mbede, who
was found guilty of homosexual conduct. His offense was to send a text message to
another man telling him he loved him.
