Dear Mr. Wayne LaPierre:
I was seriously injured by a weapon in the hands of a presumptive prohibited purchaser (and certainly a prohibited carrier). I hold you partially responsible.
Due to your obstruction, irresponsibility, unreasonableness and irrationality you are complicit in placing hundreds of thousands of weapons in the hands of criminals and psychopaths. Indeed, Mr. LaPierre, you are the same guy who fought for the rights of terrorists on the no-fly list to acquire deadly weapons. While I think that violent criminals forfeit their right to own weapons
Mr. LaPierre, you have outdone yourself today. In a Congressional hearing you had the temerity to to claim, regarding criminal background checks, that “criminals won’t comply.” In this way, you suggest that we should not require universal background checks.
Mr. LaPierre, are you wed to the notion that criminals have an underground factory somewhere manufacturing handguns and Tech-9s? If, in fact that’s not the case then you realize that every gun in the hands of a criminal was purchased legally by a lawful purchaser.
Certainly, a few of our citizens will not comply with the law. They will sell guns to others without the required background check. However, they will be accountable if a weapon that they sold illegally is used in a crime and recovered by law enforcement.
Thanks to you, Mr. LaPierre, it is going to take a number of years before all this does much good. Those hundreds of thousands of weapons that are already on our streets
Mr. LaPierre, you hands are dripping with the blood of children and other innocent citizens.
