Alison Howard of Concerned Women for America makes what have become the proforma nonsensical arguments for marriage discrimination. These include “every child needs a mommy and daddy” (which has nothing to do with marriage equality) and that the courts risk creating another Roe v Wade controversy.
The Roe v Wade argument is a threat that the Christian right will never give up on thwarting equality. That’s probably true but, like Roe, they are never going to turn back the clock.
This nitwit offers a third argument to the effect that young people do not support gay rights. What is her home planet and when does she plan to return?
CWA is unique. What other organization can claim to have employed Robert Knight, Porno Pete LaBarber and Matt Barber (among other whack jobs)? Mario Diaz (who seems to have replaced Barber) wrote, in the Washington Times, last Tuesday:
Even supporters of homosexual marriage should stand opposed to the Supreme Court
ruling in their favor in these cases. It will only make their “victory”
an illegitimate one, as it was in the case of Roe. Everyone would know
That could be the most spectacularly stupid argument ever posed in opposition to marriage equality.
