Matt Barber is a professional bigot,a one man hate group. Barber blames gays for his termination from a low level managerial job at Allstate. Barber, who received his law degree from Liberty Law on-line doesn’t practice law. Nope. Barber doesn’t have time to practice law. Barber has only one interest and that is his considerable hatred of gay people
NBA player, Jason Collins, came out. That provides Barber’s personality disorder an opportunity to come out.
According to Barber, writing for Charisma News:
So I guess you’ve heard. Fading, 34 year-old NBA free agent Jason
Collins has been declared a hero for publicly announcing that he digs
dudes. Well, it’s about time! Used to be all a guy had to do was die at
Omaha Beach or some other such nonsense. The Imperialist USA is finally
seeing some major progress.
Two-thirds of NBA players are not starters. Collins is not a superstar but he has been an impact player. It’s irrelevant. The fact that Collins is in the NBA is an enormous accomplishment. The fact that he is the first professional team sport athlete to come out eclipses his rebound stats.
The theme from the religious right (including Barber) is that Collins is a mediocre NBA journeyman, a free agent, towards the end of his career with nothing to lose. Really?
Collins had no way of knowing that the reaction would be so overwhelmingly positive. There was no way to reasonably sample attitudes and the simple fact that nobody had done what he did suggests considerable doubt. This was a risky decision. Furthermore he is a free agent. He had, and still has, no way of knowing that NBA rosters wouldn’t go into “shower panic.” Frankly, I was astonished that, for example, Kobe Bryant sent out a supportive tweet. Maybe I should know better. After all, we live in a world where Floyd Mayweather, Jr. supports marriage equality. According to Barber:
And just as he was ready to move to the next level of his basketball
career (couch, Cheetos and NBA 2K13 on his PlayStation), Jason may now
have to contend with millions in product endorsements, speaking fees
and, potentially, even a renewed NBA contract. Have you ever dealt with
lawyers? I have. I am a lawyer. We’re a pain in the butt.
While Nike stated that they wanted to use The First in a campaign, Collins had no way of knowing how lucrative that might be. The guy makes a living playing ball. As an aside, Barber doesn’t seem to have ever been licensed to practice law. Barber, at his best, emerges:
Um, right, exactly. If we can’t be proud of sodomy, what can we be proud of?
I’d encourage the next pro athlete engaged in some other
hitherto-considered-deviant-sexual-lifestyle to ride the wave.
knows, in today’s ever-”progressive” culture, I could see President
Obama awarding the Medal of Honor to the first polo player courageous
enough to admit having a thing for his horse.
Barber has some strange fantasies. Nothing I write could possibly to that bit of lunacy. “… having a thing for his horse?”
