Amazingly, Robert Oscar Lopez is an associate professor of English at California State University, Northridge. He might even be tenured.
Mr. Lopez is obsessed with all things gay, He has this delusion that he is part of an international Catholic “resistance” to the legal advance of gay rights, particularly marriage equality.
After conceding that “the fight over marriage is all but lost,” Lopez writes:
Now, they have to engage us in other arguments where I think they have
to answer tougher questions: forced curricular changes in schools, the
impingement on religious freedom of others when they “punish” people for
not supporting them, their fascistic persecution of bisexuals and
ex-gays, the growing problem of homosexual rape now that many muscular
and aggressive homosexual men are freed from stigma and circulating
freely, and most of all, the reality that same-sex parenting violates
the fundamental human rights of all of us by wrenching people from their
father and mother.
I will deal with the end of that run-on sentence momentarily but first I have to say that I am quite surprised that there is a “growing problem of homosexual rape.” Who knew? The rest of that sentence is just baloney. Lopez seems to imply that gay couples are wresting custody of children away from their parents. This man has lost his mind.
