National Organization for Marriage is soliciting contributions for Privacy for all Students. PFAS is a website and a California campaign committee. In reality, however, the organization behind this enterprise is Capitol Resource Institute in Sacramento.
Last July, CRI’s tax exempt status was revoked by the Internal Revenue Service retroactive to February 15, 2013. Yet, as you can see, they continue to solicit “tax deductible” contributions on their website.
The California campaign committee, “Privacy for all Students – Stop AB1266” was originally formed to oppose the legislation. Not surprisingly, historically and through the current cycle they have not filed any reports.
As for NOM, they are directing contributions to Brian Brown’s ActRight. ActRight’s third quarter form 8872 was due on October 15. It does not seem to have been filed. Go figure.
I’ll try to stay on top of this. The petition deadline for the 2014 ballot is November 6. I expect that they will not be successful.
