We all remember Florida State Representative Charles Van Zant. Charlie is the guy who said, of Common Core, that the new curriculum standards will turn kids gay:
These people, that will now receive $220 million from the state of Florida unless this is stopped, will promote double-mindedness in state education and attract every one of your children to become as homosexual as they possibly can. I’m sorry to report that to you.
Van Zant has a new defender in the form of “Dr.” Raymond Johnson. Johnson runs something called Biblical Concepts Ministries. According to Johnson:
… Rep Van Zants statements are true,
he spoke the truth and I support Mr. Van Zant’s statements and also
share his concern.
I … am
sickened at the blatant, vile, wicked, and false LGBT propaganda AIR* is
promoting … This document linked below
is a clear fulfillment of the “Homosexual Manifesto” entered in the
congressional record by Author Micheal [sic] Swift February 15, 1987. Stating
We shall sodomize your sons, we shall seduce them in your schools, in your locker rooms, in your sports arenas, in your seminaries, in your youth groups …
Michael Swift did, indeed, write a piece of satire in 1987. It has been cited as the gay manifesto by numerous right wing groups. They even got part of read into the congressional record by some congressman. They don’t get satire. They always omit this paragraph which adds some context:
This essay is an outré, madness, a tragic, cruel fantasy, an eruption of inner rage, on how the oppressed desperately dream of being the oppressor.
Needless to say, this does not represent The Homosexual Agenda™. The official agenda is something that we have managed to keep hidden from the general public for decades. Johnson continues:
I am outraged that Education Commissioner Pam Stewart would award a
state funded contract to AIR. Commissioner Stewart, the state board of
education and FL House Speaker Will Weatherford have continued to defend
this outrageous and inappropriate contract with AIR.
If none of this seems to make any sense that is because none of this seems to make any sense.
