Today Charisma News’ Jennifer LeClaire writes Death Threats Against Christian Leaders Emerge From Gay Rights Activists. Please. These aren’t Christian leaders and not one of them has received remotely credible death threats. LeClaire gets the first part factually correct:
The world’s largest gay-activist organization last week issued a report called “The Export of Hate” that called out a network of American, conservative Christian leaders “who are working tirelessly to undercut LGBT people around the world at every turn.”
Then she is flinging the bat-shit with both hands:
The HRC has targeted Scott Lively—an American author, attorney, social activist, independent candidate for governor of Massachusetts in the 2014 election, and president of Abiding Truth Ministries—for murder. Lively is target No. 1 on the HRC’s hate list. Lively has received two death threats since the report was published. That death-laced message also listed Barber and Liberty Law School Dean Mat Staver, among others.
I wrote about this on Sunday. This was not a credible death threat. Moreover, HRC is a nonviolent organization and does not condone violence in any form with no exceptions.
Some of these people might employ some introspection. If Scott Lively or Matt Barber don’t understand how or why they make gay people angry then they are even denser than I thought. Lively runs around absurdly claiming that gays were linked to the Third Reich. He is warning parents that gays are out to recruit their children which seems inconsistent with his claim that homosexuality is a form of personality disorder. That stuff is going to piss of people like me.
If Lively receives a credible threat then my advice is to report it immediately to law enforcement. As for Ms. LeClaire, she seems more adept with pieces like 4 Wicked Ways the Enemy Puts You to Sleep.
