Brian S. Brown

The word “blessings,” to the devout, means God’s favor or protection. To Brian Brown the word means donations to NOM’s lost cause. Does Mr. Brown believe that money mailed to NOM is heaven sent? Does God get a tax deduction? Wouldn’t it have been much easier for God to cause different outcomes than what National Organization for Marriage has experienced? He could have done that, right?

According to Mr. Brown, people have donated to their “marriage march” — something that actually requires little funding and is entirely pointless. Pointless, that is, unless one believes that a gathering of people in DC for communal prayer and venting will have any effect on the Supreme Court as they deliberate on the marriage cases this spring.

Nevertheless, in a blog post and email blast titled Blessings, Brown asks for more and check out the graphic. One wonders if people have already forgotten NOM’s numerous misadventures and fuck-ups.

The past few days have been a whirlwind — but as always, full of blessings.

One specific blessing was the receipt of a $25,000 anonymous gift in support of the 2015 March for Marriage! Because of the matching gift campaign currently underway, a generous donor is matching every gift given to NOM — which means a total of $50,000 was just brought to the fight to defend marriage!

This, of course, is followed by the usual money beg. Surprising I know.
