According to Newsbusters on Thursday, Bloomberg Promotes ‘Gay Corporate Warrior,’ Stealth LGBT Funding Conference. Newsbusters, an organization controlled by the rabidly anti-gay bigot,  Brent Bozell, continues:

Liberals who habitually decry all the money in politics may want to turn their attention to Dallas today. That’s where a secretive meeting of millionaires and billionaires is convening and planning how to deploy $100 million over the next decade to influence American politics.

Closed to the press and public, the exclusive, invitation-only event includes the famous and not-so-famous, just so long as an attendee has at least $25,000 a year to give to causes “philanthropic” and political.

You would think that the Koch Brothers never hold private conferences. What they are referring to is the OutGiving conference today in Dallas. OutGiving is a project of the Gill Foundation which is completely transparent. In IRS filings it accounts for every penny that it contributes. The conference is, indeed, private. Anyone can request an invitation to OutGiving conferences. As a private organization it establishes the criteria:

OutGiving conferences are invitation-only, private, solicitation-free events open to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and allied individuals whose annual philanthropy exceeds $25,000 and who are interested in increasing the effectiveness of their giving in support of the LGBT movement.

The OutGiving website offers numerous videos from the conference so it might be private and limited to decision makers but it certainly is not secretive or “stealth.” By the way, the actual title from Bloomberg (the news site, not the individual) is: “America’s Gay Corporate Warrior Wants to Bring Full Equality to Red States” That warrior is Tim Gill and Bloomberg’s piece is an interesting read.
