When I write about LifeSiteNews it usually pertains to their anti-gay hate site. Today is different. Today LifeSite is so outraged by events in Texas that – once again – cleared Planned Parenthood of wrongdoing while indicting the produces of those heavily edited and misleading videos that anti-choice zealots are so enamored with.

Many of the petitions that are started by organizations are merely fund raising tools. You add your name to the “petition” (which confirms your email address and zip code) and after clicking you get to the page asking for money.

This looks like a bona fide effort. Apparently LifeSite actually thinks that they can petition a grand jury (or a prosecutor for that matter) and materially alter the trajectory of a criminal complaint. The petition is remarkable for its language:

To: The Harris County Grand Jury and District Attorney Devon Anderson

I am appalled at the decision to turn a blind eye to clear video evidence showing Planned Parenthood harvesting the body parts of fully formed aborted babies and selling them for a profit.

Even worse is the decision to instead file charges against David Daleiden, who heroically pursued his investigation against Planned Parenthood using accepted methods of undercover investigative journalism.

I urge you to immediately drop these absurd charges against David and his associates, and to instead refocus your efforts on where they belong: on the inhuman practices of Planned Parenthood in utilizing the bodies of the babies they have killed to make a profit.

“Absurd charges” mind you. Loving it. They simply cannot cope with the fact that those videos do not show what they so desperately want to believe they show. There simply is not clear evidence as they insist. Nothing will ever convince these uber-conservative Catholics that those videos are misleading. I have no idea what they think was “heroic.”

They don’t seem to get it. The grand jury did review the videos, took testimony and probably saw other exhibits. They have already concluded, based upon the evidence that Planned Parenthood did nothing wrong. They have also concluded that the two zealots committed crimes including the alteration of a government document and an effort to purchase body parts. Apparently they used fake government identification. With intent to defraud it is indeed a criminal offense.

Eugene Volokh has been following this. He has concluded that the idea that one of the prosecutors is on the board of Planned Parenthood (the latest attempt to discredit) is nonsense. Oh the poor things.
