The British Boxing Board of Control has decided that Tyson fury should not be banned from boxing for his anti-gay statements. The (IBF/WBA/WBO) heavyweight champion has repeatedly said that gay rights lead to the end of the world. I support his right to say whatever he wants, no matter how ignorant or spectacularly stupid. Civil people can react accordingly.
The BBBC stewards tried to explain that, as the heavyweight champion, he had certain responsibilities. Among those is not to be controversial. According to the BBBC:
He has assured the stewards that he understands the responsibilities
upon and has expressed regret that
he has caused offense to others, which was never his intention.
Then what was this schmuck’s intent?
