Saturday the Log Cabin Republicans released a video of Hillary Clinton embracing marriage discrimination in 2002 and 2004. The end tag reads “Hillary Clinton: Wrong on Gay Rights When it Mattered.” Agreed. More than a decade ago, Hillary Clinton was wrong. So what? What is the point? I am not interested in her point of view in 2004. I am interested in he position now, when it really counts.

Had this been a Sanders campaign video I wouldn’t bother to comment. However, coming from the folks at Log Cabin, it is infuriating. Trump has now said that he would try to reverse Obergefell. Ted Cruz has asserted that, as president, he would simply ignore the ruling. Marco Rubio is just the prettier Tea Party version of Rick Santorum, espousing the same anti-gay views. Moreover, Trump is clueless, Cruz is just batshit crazy and Rubio is witless.

Secretary Clinton is fair game. However, the hypocrisy of Log Cabin Republicans is nothing short of astounding. Did any of these idiots think that it only highlights the abysmal stance on gay rights of every single serious Republican candidate? Did they think that nobody would ask: “So what is your alternative?” “Who’s your guy?”
