Brian S. Brown

Late Thursday afternoon Brian Brown sent out an email to supporters titled “WCF Weekly – African Conference An Unqualified Success. Presumably I will be blessed with a weekly update. As president of World Congress of Families Brian Brown is now a hate group leader according to the Southern Poverty Law Center. It’s official. Brown writes:

It’s been a whirlwind of travel for me the last couple of weeks as I’ve gone from the US, to Serbia, throughout Europe and then to Mexico City to witness the phenomenal March For The Family this past Saturday. Sponsored by Frente Nacional por la Familia (National Front For The Family), the march far exceeded expectations and was one of the largest demonstrations of support for marriage and the natural family ever organized with over 400,000 people in attendance!

National Front for the Family is organized by the Catholic Church and probably has Opus Dei sponsorship. It seems that everything Brown is involved in has some connection to Opus Dei.

In compliance with Mexican law, I was there as an observer, not a participant, so that I could objectively report to you on what I saw. I witnessed an amazing outpouring of support for maintaining marriage in Mexico as the union of one man and one woman, and to stopping the dangerous proposal of the Mexican government to impose the “gender ideology” of extremists who want children to be taught in school that they can choose their own gender.

I am quite certain that the Catholic Church can bring out the masses. They don’t know exactly why they oppose marriage equality or what effect it might have on them. They just know that the Church tells them to oppose it. Whatever the law is in Mexico that Brown was straddling, I am confident that Brown was a participant. As head of National Organization for Marriage, Brown has shown no respect for US law. NOM still has not complied with court orders to produce campaign finance documents. NOM is still soliciting funds in states where prohibited by law. But I digress.

Mr. Brown gets to ride the pope’s favorite hobby horse — “gender ideology” which translates to:

Doctors and scientists know nothing. Gender dysphoria does not exist. Transgender people are either confused or pretending.

Brown calls it faith. I call it willful ignorance. Later on:

But Serbia and Mexico were not the only places in the last week that stood tall for the family. WCF’s Don Feder attended a major African Regional Conference in Nairobi which brought together 200 leaders from the African continent in defense of the family. It was an unqualified success. Please read Don’s report below.

I am sure that it was a success. The African cardinals are particularly strident about marriage discrimination. “Defense of the family?” Seriously? Sounds more like the defense of religious doctrine to me. I think that I will skip Feder’s report if that’s okay with you.
