I received no fewer than three emails yesterday from Brian S. Brown, leader of National Organization for Marriage. They saved the best for last with “BREAKING NEWS … .” NOM pays an idiot to write idiotic money-grubs to be consumed by idiotic supporters who are willing to send money to an organization, headed by an idiot who has accomplished nothing over more than eight years. The deception I describe at the end of my castigation is, well … idiotic in its obviousness.
Turns out that NOM is taking credit for the Supreme Court having decided to hear Gloucester School Board v. G.G. which is about the correctness of using Title IX through an unpublished agency letter to effect transgender access in public schools.
The United States Supreme Court has just announced that they have accepted the case out of Virginia (Gloucester County School Board v G.G.) that gives us the opportunity to stop President Obama’s ill-conceived, dangerous gender ideology from being imposed on children in the nation’s public schools. NOM filed a brief with the Court asking them to take the case, and we are very pleased they agreed with us.
Of course NOM filed one of many amicus briefs that were submitted. I agreed with NOM. I think that the Court should hear this case in order to resolve the controversy. I suspect that many supporters feel similarly. An interesting question arises as to who will be sitting on the Court for oral arguments which will probably occur in the February sitting beginning February 21, 2017.
It gets worse:
This is a critical legal battle that we absolutely must win if we are to spare millions children <sic> across the nation from being indoctrinated into a false ideology that gender is fluid and changeable, something that reflects your emotional state not biological reality. Some of the top medical and psychiatric experts in the country warn that there is no scientific evidence to support the idea the people are born gay, lesbian, bi-sexual or transgender, nor is there evidence to support the idea that some people are trapped in the wrong body. In fact, most of those who report being “transgendered” change their mind by the time they enter adulthood.
“Spare millions of children” from what exactly? Knowing that transgender people exist? Children accepting medical science is now “indoctrination.” The indoctrination that seems to be just fine with Mr. Brown is falsely teaching children to accept the ideology of the Catholic Church over science. That is how we develop a society with fewer critical thinkers with low ingenuity and even less productivity.
Those “top medical and psychiatric experts” are actually Lawrence Mayer and Paul McHugh who recently wrote a highly controversial article that was not peer reviewed and has been debunked by numerous experts. Even Meyer and McHugh acknowledge gender fluidity. The principal concern of the primary author, Meyer, is that children are being given irreversible treatment in spite of potential fluidity. It is a valid concern which is why clinicians are exceptionally cautious with hormones and puberty blockers which also require parental consent. Just to be clear, children are not candidates for gender affirming surgery.
I note with some amusement that Brown denies the existence of gender fluidity and then claims that a majority of “transgendered” <sic> people change their minds as children. That seems to describe fluidity although I would not call it a change of mind which implies conscious choice. Nor do I know that it is a majority. I am more comfortable stating that some transgender children become cisgender by adulthood. It’s not really that simple because gender is probably not binary. It is likely a continuum with male and female at the extreme ends.
That is all too much to handle for an individual as banal as Brian Brown. In his mind God created people male and female. They are all cisgender and heterosexual. Brown is not exactly the most intellectually curious creature on earth. My neighbor’s dog seems more inquisitive.
The BIG lie:
We will be expending tremendous resources on this case. Please make an immediate financial contribution so that we can get to work on this critical issue.
Expending tremendous resources doing what exactly? They will probably edit and re-submit their amicus brief — a nominal expense. These holier-than-thou hypocrites are so comfortable telling whoppers in order to get people to send them their hard-earned money. I would love to hear Brown defend this statement. That is never going to happen because he cannot. Lying for their Lord seems to be part of a pernicious lifestyle. It’s a choice.
