Claire Chretien, an author at LifeSiteNews is apparently just horrified that Airbnb, the short-term accommodations rental network, expects its hosts and guests to abide by a nondiscrimination policy that includes sexual orientation and gender identity. God forbid that someone should have to rent out their apartment to a transgender person.
Chretien does little more than to point out the policy. That is sufficient for a site as transphobic and homophobic as LifeSiteNews. They disapprove of gay and trans people and devote considerable resources to expressing their disapproval of gay and trans people. It seems to be important to them that we know that they disapprove of us. How little they understand.
Misterbnb is a service similar to Airbnb that is designed
specifically for the gay community. Its motto is “stay like a gay
The only relevance that Misterbnb (which I have never heard of) has to the story is to suggest that we should stick to our own services. Sexual apartheid.
Registered Airbnb users can log in and express concern at the company’s feedback form … or contact form … . Others who are concerned can contact Airbnb at 1-855-424-7262 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Is Ms. Chretien so lacking in erudition or critical thinking that she is unable to realize that a press contact is just that? Or does she want to intentionally inconvenience a company with a policy that she does not like? Presumably she believes that her readers will lodge their complaints at the online forms — while most are probably neither Airbnb hosts nor guests. It is highly unlikely that those readers will affect Airbnb’s company policy.
Living in a resort area, I loathe Airbnb but I applaud the policy.
