A federal judge tossed out a lawsuit filed by Annmarie Calgaro, a Minnesotan who
claimed that state agencies and health care providers unlawfully terminated her parental
rights when they allowed her trans daughter to undergo gender affirming therapy without her consent. Her daughter was also a nominal defendant. See my post from last November.
By all accounts JDK (now EJK) is an emancipated minor and Mommy Dearest was shit out of luck.
Calgaro was represented by the conservative Catholic Thomas More Society (those folks do not believe that trans people exist). They had the usual press conferences. The complaint was a piece of work, employing male pronouns throughout.
Some crackpot physician, Dr. Grazie Pozo Christie wrote at The Federalist (where else?): “Mom Sues To Prevent Teen Son From Amputating His Genitals.”
Christie is a board certified diagnostic radiologist. She lacks the training necessary to opine on matters of human sexuality. She is also an
orthodox Catholic and a policy advisor for the Catholic Medical Association.
Calgaro’s attorney, Erick Kaardal, said she is considering an appeal.
