Jonathan Saenz

On Wednesday we have a coalescing of the hate group American Family Association plus their most bigoted polemicist, Charlie Butts plus Hate Group Leader Jonathan Saenz of Texas Values.

Texas residents may have the last word on whether the state’s lawmakers consider a bill to protect women and children in public restrooms.

Once again, absent any evidence in support, we are informed that trans people present a threat to women and children. It is Christianity nonsense.

According to Saenz (who by the way is not the brightest bulb in the chandelier):

“… [T]he Texas Privacy Act [SB 6] had a majority of support across the state,” he begins. “Even Democrats agreed this is an issue that needed to be addressed [and] the Texas Senate voted to pass [it], but the House leadership killed it on the last couple of days.”

The House killed this thing because businesses detest discrimination. It makes it harder to recruit executives and there is the real risk that the state could become a pariah.

Saenz has a petition urging the Governor to call a special session of the legislature. It’s Texas; you never know.
