Hate group leader John Stemberger of Florida Family Policy Council has invited Barronelle Stutzman to speak at FFPC’s annual bigotry-bash. Stutzman, you will recall, is the eagerly discriminatory Washington State florist who refused to sell her flowers if they were to be displayed at a same-sex wedding. Her attorneys at ADF are trying to get the Supreme Court to hear her case. Presumably, however, the outcome of Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado will determine Stutzman’s fate. Oral arguments in that case are scheduled for Tuesday, December 5.

Stutzman’s wrinkled white ass sure does have some mileage on it. She seems to be up for any appearance promoting prejudice. ADF is probably picking up the travel expenses as they continue to raise money off of Stutzman. Moreover, appearing with Stutzman is ADF CEO Michael Farris. Farris will be there to reinforce the notion that Christians are just so terribly persecuted.

FFPC’s event is scheduled for October 28 in Orlando. According to Stemberger this year’s theme is freedoms worth fighting for. I am all for that including the freedom to be served without discrimination but that’s not what Stemberger has in mind.

In the brief clip. Stemberger claims that his group are “Christians, conservatives and constitutional activists.” Stemberger is a religious conservative and an activist is someone who campaigns to effect social or political change. Linking that to the Constitution for religious purposes is inconsistent with the Constitution itself. According to Stemberger the Court will determine if they have “the rights of conscience to act on [their] beliefs or whether we are just going to be fictional and just have them.” Yeah, John. That makes perfect sense.

Stemberger serves a valuable purpose. He provides a paradigm for Christian privilege and Christian supremacy.
