It has been some time since I last compared American College of Pediatricians (ACPeds) with the real professional peer group, the American Academy of Pediatrics. Not much has changed. AAP still has more than 1,000 times the revenues of ACPeds. Yet ACPeds is still capable of creating confusion, much of which is willful.

For example, the UK’s Christian Institute has a post titled: “‘Indoctrinating kids with trans ideology abusive’, says top paediatrician.” The subtitle reads:

A leading paediatrician has warned against teaching children harmful transsexual ideas, saying it profoundly confuses them.

That supposedly exalted pediatrician would be ACPeds head, Michelle Cretella, spreading her anti-LGBT BS on behalf of the Catholic Church. Are the folks at Christian Institute ignorant of the facts that Cretella has no academic credentials, is not currently licensed to practice medicine, has never done any research and is currently the head of an organization smaller than a lunch truck? Do they even understand that a pediatrician is not qualified to assess or treat gender dysphoria? Or, in the alternative, are they intentionally misleading? Does it really matter?

Cretella keeps making noise that is not supported by any peer-reviewed research. She has an echo chamber at her disposal that will uncritically repeat any of her uninformed utterances. This directly harms children. Denied gender affirmation suffering kids are at enormous risk for some self harm. So this tiny operation, deemed a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, is intentionally misinforming people on behalf of the Christian faith which makes them toxic. It makes the little enterprise more dangerous than disease.
