Few quotes are necessary from a LifeSiteNews piece titled: With great ‘Pride,’ 23 Major League Baseball teams to host pro-homosexual nights. The author is Calvin Freiburger.
Pride nights have also come under fire for exposing children to same-sex kisses via stadium “kiss cams.” Last year, the Pittsburgh Pirates held their pride night on the same day as their weekly Kids’ Day, which offers special games and merchandise to children ages 14 and younger.
My efforts to have LifeSiteNews designated as a hate group have failed. Once again one of their authors is claiming that gay people pose a threat to children. I did not know that kissing was pornographic or that a sexual orientation these Defenders of the Faith disapprove of is contagious. Faith does not serve as an excuse for this kind of bigotry.
This part is special:
“As a Christian, I cannot support an organization which actively promotes a behavior which the Word of God repeatedly and unequivocally declares to be a sin,” mental health awareness advocate Richard Jarzynka lamented at the time. “(T)he LGBT Pride celebration is completely out of place on a day when the Pirates are having promotions for children, such as giving away jerseys to kids under 14, inviting kids to run the bases, and having a ’Family Fun Zone.’”
In case you are unaware, Richard Jarzynka wrote a book titled: “Blessed With Bipolar.” I have to quote from the jacket:
I cracked up – for the first time – on June 4, 1988, three weeks short of completing my Masters degree in Psychology. Some would say I had a nervous breakdown. The psych ward doctors said it was major depression. I say that I saw just how evil my sin is in the eyes of God and it scared the hell out of me … I cobbled together some mad reality and blew a fuse … I lost my mind, never to be the same again. Thanks be to God! Praise to You, Lord Jesus Christ!
He is expressing a new and innovative way that his god punishes people: Mental illness. I gather that he has been repeatedly punished for some failing on his part. I am trying to figure out how Trump is avoiding a lightning strike but that’s a subject for another day.
Getting back to the LifeSite piece, Calvin concludes:
In 2015, liberals attacked New York Mets infielder Daniel Murphy for saying he could simultaneously disapprove of Bill Bean’s sin while welcoming him as a colleague.
“I do disagree with the fact that Billy is a homosexual. That doesn’t mean I can’t still invest in him and get to know him,” Murphy explained. “I don’t think the fact that someone is a homosexual should completely shut the door on investing in them in a relational aspect (…) That’s not love at all.”
Freiburger is saying one thing in the first paragraph while Daniel Murphy is saying something else. According to Freiburger, Murphy disapproves of the sin. The quote, however, is spectacularly stupid. How does someone “disagree” with a sexual orientation. Freiburger, by the way, is claiming that it is a sin to be gay. I believe that the position of the Church is that it is a sin to have gay sex. These people need to get over themselves. We are not the least bit interested in their approval.
