Concerned Women for America is not designated a hate group by the SPLC but it sure as hell is one. This in spite of the fact that the founder, Beverly LaHaye, has a gay son. Peter LaBarbera and Mat Barber are just two of the very insane people who have worked for CWA.

The text of the email reads:

I just got out of a meeting with our finance team, and if we don’t raise $29,000 by midnight tonight, we may have to cut back on our critical Concerned Women Vote program.

It is eerily reminiscent of Oral Roberts’ plea that if his supporters did not contribute $8 million dollars within three months, “God would call me home.” Cynical marketers call this: Send money or the puppy dies. I cannot discern what CWA hopes to achieve by calling an email confidential.

I will be sure to tweet the link and image to the organization and Penny Nance so that they can sue me.

These days they are campaigning with:

CWA activists around the nation stand in love and solidarity with America’s Jewish communities. We are committed to fighting anti-Semitism, especially on our college campuses.

BS political expediency. According to these biblical literalists we are destined for hell because we do not accept Jesus Christ as lord and savior. Where do they think anti-Semitism comes from in the first place?

The missive is signed “Penny.” That would be Penny Young Nance, the group’s president.
