Gerard J. M. van den Aardweg, from his video proclaiming that “homo-tyranny is upon us.”

According to LifeSiteNews, “Dr. Gerard J. M. van den Aardweg is a Dutch psychologist and psychoanalyst. He is one of Europe’s foremost experts on homosexuality.” Not exactly. The first clue is that van den Aardweg was on the board of National Association for Research & Therapy of Homosexuality (NARTH).
Van den Aardweg is also a conspiracy theorist. He has said that global organizations with a global sexual ideology wanted “to deal a blow to normal marriage and the family and to this end they use the homosexual movement, the sexual rights movement.” He claims, among other things, that the Nazi ideology was “rooted” in homosexuality (perhaps reading too much Scott Lively).
Apparently many scientific institutions have been taken over by “active militant gays” who produce information to further the gay cause. He dismisses the idea that gay people were born that way. He might be right but sexuality is formed by about the age of two. Of course van den Aardweg insists that there is no such thing as a gay child which means that sexual orientation is formed in adulthood. Which means that GJMvdA is a quack.
Another one of van den Aardweg’s theories is that wealthy organizations were, or are, interested in imposing homosexuality on the world. These have included “the abortion movement, feminism, and freemasonry.” He called it a “network” and said their aim was “to reduce marriage, and that will be one of the effects if gay marriage is accepted.” Exactly why these groups want to reduce marriage remains unexplained. Freemasonry?
Good News Jerry is at it again and he is claiming that gays are predisposed to be child molesters.
Avoiding truth, propagating lies
The gay-normalization propaganda clings to the lie that homosexual attractions and behaviors are “by themselves” natural, healthy and morally and spiritually all right. So if some less desirable things turn out to be inherently connected to homosexuality – mental and medical disorders and ailments, excessive promiscuity, partner violence, substance addictions, and relative to our subject here, a substantially enhanced risk of molestation of minors – the gay reflex reaction is: blame discrimination, religious and social prejudices, invent whatever alibis, suppress media attention for the facts; but no critical word about what they revere as ‘holy homophilia.’
In other words the media are part of a vast homosexual conspiracy. Gay people are diseased perverts; violent, addicted and disordered.
Regardless of what the Catholic Church teaches, the overwhelming consensus of science is that homosexuality is a normal variant of human sexuality. The views of Gerard J. M. van den Aardweg are formed, not by science, but by the Vatican.
But then, how does a homosexual activist explain away these annoying, repeatedly confirmed statistics on abusing priests, and on male molesters of minors in general, for that matter?
When all cases of minor abuse by priests, pre-adolescents and adolescents are taken together, about 80% concerned boys, so only 20% girls; Two-thirds of pre-adolescent victims are boys and 85% of adolescent victims are boys. Eighty percent (80%) of all victims are adolescents. Thus the abuse of minors by priests is overwhelmingly homosexual: It is homosexual pedophilia as regards abuse of pre-adolescents, but pederasty (abuse of adolescents) in the overwhelming majority of all abuse cases. How can we deny that minor abuse by priests is a question of homosexuality?
Criminologists have known for some time that child molesters are indifferent to the sex of their victims. Priests have much more private contact with boys than girls. Boys become targets of opportunity.
Jerry (it is tedious to type the full name) tries to smear Dr. Thomas G. Plante. Plante is the Augustin Cardinal Bea, S.J. professor of psychology at Santa Clara University, a Jesuit Institution. In addition to his named chair at a prominent Jesuit university Plante has a prestigious secular position at Stanford University’s medical school.
What has Jerry ranting and enraged is an article that Dr. Plante published in the Jesuit outlet America titled: No, homosexuality is not a risk factor for the sexual abuse of children. Dr. Plante writes:
… the research data on this topic makes clear that sexual orientation alone is not a risk factor for pedophilia or for committing sexual crimes against children or teens or anyone. Sexual orientation by itself is irrelevant to child sexual abuse behavior or risks.
The link is to the Journal of the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law which is a highly respected academic journal. Gerard J. M. van den Aardweg (“Jerry”) never seems to support his crazy theories with peer-reviewed research or evidence.
Dr. Plante’s conclusions and the research don’t sit well with a homophobe and Defender of the Faith like Jerry.
Adult male molesters of boys invariably prove predominantly homosexual. Their fantasies about boys are obsessive, including their grooming, stalking, and clinging to their prospective victims, whether they are directed to pre-adolescents or teens. While on the other hand, no adult man with normal, heterosexual, feelings is sexually interested in boys; let alone that he would feel tempted to sexually seduce or molest them. No matter how lonely he may feel, or in what emotional crisis he may find himself.
Jerry doesn’t provide so much as a hint of where that came from. Later on he introduces another theory:
Pedophilia v Pederasty
The close association between homosexual and pedophile-homosexual desires and the inclination to seduce or molest minors is a well-documented constant, both clinically and statistically. It is a consequence of the neurotic, obsessive nature of these feelings. Let me first clarify the terms “homosexual pedophilia”, “ephebophilia”, and “pederasty”. … … …
While Jerry claims that this is “well-documented” he provides no clue as to where and when or by whom. The FBI which maintains the best statistics on crimes, perhaps in the world, disagrees. Furthermore:
… an expert panel of researchers convened by the National Academy of Sciences noted in a 1993 report: “The distinction between homosexual and heterosexual child molesters relies on the premise that male molesters of male victims are homosexual in orientation. Most molesters of boys do not report sexual interest in adult men, however” (National Research Council, 1993, p. 143, citation omitted).
That is dated but I doubt that the dynamic has changed over the years. But Jerry has more unsupported bullshit to sell:
That this pedophilia belongs to the family of the “homosexualities” is confirmed by clinical and statistical studies on the causative or predisposing childhood psychological factors (parent-child interactions, peer relationships), which are much the same in ephebophiles, androphiles, and pedophiles.
Again, he provides no information about these “studies.” Are these the insane, religious conclusions of NARTH affiliated faux experts posted to the Journal of Human Sexuality (which is published by NARTH’s successor, Alliance for Therapeutic Choice and Scientific Integrity)? Is that why he does not link to, or identify, the source of his “statistical studies?”
Other unsubstantiated gems include:
- The fairy tales told by Plante in order to deny the all-important involvement of homosexuality in the abuse epidemic signals the blindness to reality that often characterizes many homosexuals and pedophiles who want to see their feelings as normal.…
- Gay and pedophile self-normalizers simply turn things upside down. Starting to deceive themselves, they are forced to deceive others. Unless they have the courage to be honest and recognize the abnormality of their inclinations and the wrongness of their behavior, they imprison themselves in an inner world of lies. …
- The gay and pro-gay indoctrinated psychological and psychiatric professions have been a major force in the homosexualization of the seminaries and the priesthood. They are the ones to blame …
You get the idea. By the time van den Aardweg runs out of steam (and rancor) gay people, most of whom are militant homosexuals, drive an enormous conspiracy which includes the media, the medical profession, some Catholic priests and bishops and, of course, Dr. Plante. Anyone who disagrees with Jerry is part of the conspiracy. Every bit of research that disproves Jerry’s rhetoric has a sinister, conspiracy-linked purpose and is not to be believed. Dr. Robert Spitzer recanted and apologized for promoting conversion therapy. He was part of the conspiracy too.
The faithful actually believe this guy. They carry his harmful and untrue message beyond the confines of the Church. They then portray us as perverts who pose a danger to innocent children. They don’t care that none of van den Aardweg’s rhetoric is supported by research. Van den Aardweg confirms their faith and tells them what they want to hear — and that is sufficient.
