|(L-R) Stephen Broden and Randy Short are the anti-LGBTQ bigots behind Gone2Far. Short is also a virulent anti-Semite.

The bigoted “proclamation” of Gone2Far popped up about two weeks ago (it is dated January 16). I did not pay much attention to it because it is anonymous. Promoters of the project seem to be obsessed with drag queens including Desmond Napoles (Desmond is Amazing) and, of course, Drag Queen Story Hour.
The proclamation is full of good stuff. It is an anti-LGBTQ compendium worthy of any hate group. Following the de rigueur stats on HIV among gay men:
WHEREAS, the rectum is biologically designed for excreting waste, the danger and damage from penile-anal intercourse, oral-anal intercourse, fisting, the consumption of fecal matter and other common MSM behavior is clearly not natural, abnormal, medically dangerous, anatomically destructive and medically life threatening; and
WHEREAS, anal sex is the highest risk sexual behavior; and (https://www.cdc.gov/msmhealth/HIV.htm)
WHEREAS, according to the Bible, “loving your neighbor” IS WARNING THEM about dangerous lifestyles and behavior that leads to death or disease (Leviticus 19:16-17); and
WHEREAS, to show love for your neighbor, one does not celebrate sin or behavior that destroys the body and soul; and
WHEREAS, all human beings are created equal under the law and in the eyes of God, but not all behavior is moral or acceptable; and …
Apparently these assholes know more than anyone should know about gay ass physiology. The above is just a small part of the anti-LGBTQ tirade. It all ends up at a bunch of resolutions including:
BE IT RESOLVED that we, the undersigned, believers in the One True God and His only Son, call upon all to join with us in recognizing that “Blessed is the Nation whose God is the Lord,” and humbly implore all who love Truth and Virtue to live above reproach in the sight of God and man with a firm reliance on the leadership and protection of Almighty God; and
That is consistent with the Christian nation mythology expressed in the group’s mission:
To reestablish the Judeo-Christian ethic in the United States. To provide a Christian perspective on issues related to politics, economics, psychology, sociology and human sexuality in the public square. To provide a Biblical, factual, biological perspective to the many complex issues facing a postmodern culture.
There is nothing Judeo in any of this.
Monday, someone has purchased a press release at Christian Newswire:
Equality Act Threatens Religious Liberty and Free Speech
Equality Act H.R.2282 Threatens Religious Liberty and Free Speech
Scores of religious leaders, pastors, pro-life/pro-family activist, and academics have founded the Gone To [sic] Far Movement (GTFM) have united to challenge the attempt to hijack America’s Civil Rights laws with the pending Equality Act H.R. 2282 in Congress.
Apparently the text had not Gone2Edit. Nevertheless, they are having an event:
Press Conference Details:
The Gone To Far press conference will be held on:
Tuesday, February 5, 2019,

National Press Club

The conference is open to the members of the press and the public.
Dr. Randy Short
Coordinator, Gone To Far
Peter LaBarbera has met his match for hyperbolic batshit:
The GTFM recognizes that the Equality Act H.R. 2282 is a dangerous, irresponsible, outlandish, morally perverse, and socially deleterious legislation. The Equality Act poses a direct threat to religious freedom and the dignity of Blacks and women by blending the immutability of sex and race with radical-LGBTQ theories, and H.R. 2282 aims to amend 59 existing federal laws and regulations. GTFM believes that H.R. 2282 if passed, will create a dangerous legal precedent creating social chaos and legal loopholes permitting reverse discrimination, and it has the potential to establish legal protections for previously illegal sexual practices and conduct. The GTFM will issue a Proclamation of Faith opposed to the Equality Act and call for the Congressional Black Caucus to resign. The Gone To [sic] Far Movement is bi-partisan, interracial, interfaith, and a nationwide collection of Americans who want to protect and preserve faith, family, freedom, traditional values, and to counter the movement to legalize pedophilia.
You would think that Mr. Broden could at least spell his own movement properly. “Movement to legalize pedophilia?” Where did that come from? MassResistance? Moreover, why have a press conference over something that is irrelevant? It is irrelevant because H.R. 2282 died in session in 2018. The last action on the measure was nearly two years ago. Even if reintroduced, it cannot pass the Senate and Trump sure as hell isn’t signing it.
Just who are these crazy people?
Broden’s claim to fame is that, in 2010, he ran for Congress as the Republican nominee for Texas’ 30th Congressional District. He lost to the incumbent, Democrat Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson. Johnson had the largest margin of victory of any Democrat running for the U.S. House in Texas in 2010.
I edited Broden’s (vanity) Wikipedia page today. He claims to be founder and senior pastor of Fair Park Bible Fellowship Church. Fair Park Bible Fellowship Church is not a federally tax-exempt organization. He also claims to be president of the Fair Park Friendship Center. Fair Park Friendship Center is a 501(c)3 with annual revenues less than $50,000.
Randy Short claims to have a PhD in African studies from Howard University. Maybe. Short has no real employment history. His last valid employment seems to have been as a lecturer at Bowie State University for one year ending in 2007. An interesting 2014 post at the Iran Project (which is probably state-sponsored) includes:
Dr. Randy short is an American human rights activist who is a lay minister in the Christian Church and an active member of Southern Christian Leadership Conference, Black Agenda Reports, Judicial Justice Movement and African American for Human Rights, participated in the second international “New Horizon” conference in Tehran in late September in which about 30 Authors, filmmakers, thinkers, activists and journalists [including Louis Farrakhan] participated to discuss the Zionism and the world imperialism. In a note, he explained how he was treated and interrogated by US security officers after attending the conference in Iran.
Bottom line is two irrational, insane people are making a great deal of hateful noise. Both are anti-LGBT bigots and at least one is an anti-Semite.
