Suzanne Fields is a columnist for The Washington Times. Thursday she writes:
The Mueller report ought to bring an end to the obsession that Hillary Clinton was robbed of the presidency, but it won’t. Donald Trump beat her fair and square. He didn’t get any help from the Russians.
I do not know whether or not this misinformation is intentional or if Ms. Fields is just plain stupid. Perhaps she is too lazy to read. Perhaps she is functionally illiterate. It does not matter.
Attorney General Barr summarized:
The report outlines the Russian effort to influence the election and documents crimes committed by persons associated with the Russian government in connection with those efforts.
The irrefutable fact is that Trump received substantial help from the Russian government. The question remains whether or not Trump would have won were it not for the assistance of the Russians. It is not an “obsession” but it is a continuing source of ire.
I read this crap so that you don’t have to.
The Barr summary makes no sense to me. It conflicts with what I think I know. However, I also think that we should all reserve judgment until we have more information. Does the 300 page Mueller report detail a great deal of unethical behavior on Trump’s part that would not subject him to criminal prosecution? We do not know. Eventually we are going to have the full report. Meanwhile it seems likely that the House of Representatives will subpoena Mr. Mueller.
Predictions are pointless. Keep your powder dry.
