According to Doug Mainwaring, a gay man: Disney targets kids as homsexual ‘pride’ month approaches.

The array of gay-themed Disney products is troubling. In addition to offering rainbow emblazoned apparel and sundries to adults, Disney is now peddling toys and clothing for kids awash in rainbow colors and messaging.

And? What’s the problem? This schmuck knows that these things will not affect a child’s sexual orientation. Some kids are gay. Some kids have gay parents. Some kids have gay friends. Some kids just want to show that they are supportive of LGBTQ persons.

Teaching children the scientific truth that sexual orientation and gender identity are natural variances in human sexuality irrespective of where they intersect might be Mainwaring’s problem. Should we lie to kids in service to religious orthodoxy? The hate groups used to object to “normalizing homosexuality.”

That objection is part superstition and part reality. Children who know the truth about sexual orientation and gender identity are less likely to be bigoted. Anti-LGBTQ hate groups depend upon a bigoted constituency for relevance.

Mainwaring’s title is idiotic. Disney is targeting kids, … to generate revenues; not for anything sinister.

The Catholic Church “targets” kids! The Church teaches children that gay people are “objectively disordered” and that transgender people do not really exist. Those are lies.

  • Disney is not harming children.
  • The Catholic Church does harm to kids.

Yet, Catholics are more supportive of LGBTQ people than the general public. Extremists and fanatics like Mr. Mainwaring are out of the mainstream.

It is this tweet that fried Mainwaring’s brain. Again, keep in mind that Doug Mainwaring is a gay man.:



The mindless stupidity is startling. These are crazy people. They cannot be reasoned with:

Among the organizations promoting homosexual [sic] and gender dysphoria that Disney is financing are GLSEN and the ‘It Gets Better Project,’ which affirm youth that consider themselves to be homosexual or to have a gender identity that is different from biological reality.

Were it not for moronic bigots, Pride Month would not exist. How, exactly, does one “promote” sexual orientation or gender identity? What is the alternative to letting kids know that they are perfect just the way they are? How will rejecting them do any good? None of this makes a whit of common sense.

Stupidity repeated:

Again, what is harmful about LGBTQ themed merchandise being sold to kids? Is doing so going to turn them gay or cause them to suffer with gender dysphoria?

Mainwaring fills the page with images of Disney tchotchkes. He then mischaracterizes the matter:

Disney promises that its commitment to promoting homosexuality and transgenderism will extend beyond PRIDE month to the entire year.

Disney’s commitment is to supporting LGBTQ people. “Promoting” is so 1970s. In 1978 John Briggs thought that he had a winning political opportunity with California Proposition 6 which required firing any teacher “advocating, imposing, encouraging or promoting” homosexuality.

Briggs, who has since apologized, got his ass kicked. Prop 6 was defeated by over 1 million votes due to the organizing efforts of Harvey Milk.

Doug Mainwaring and his ilk are getting their asses kicked. They are holding on to beliefs that have been thoroughly discredited by science.
