Helpless anti-trans crackpots exist on a diet of stupidity and sexual vicariousness.
Friend to the LGBTQ community, Jonathon Van Maren, has authored: Exhibit A in the history of how the transgender movement domesticated the press. What idiotic argument shall Van Maren make in support of scripture and the teachings of the Catholic Church?
Then it’s on to an incoherent subtitle:
Star comes out as trans; celebrities rush to offer praise and gushing compliments on how ‘beautiful’ they look post-surgery; the media will announce that we should be so proud of this person who is now a different sex; and then, on to the next story.
Translation: “I disapprove of transgender people because the Church says that they do not really exist. Therefore, when others demonstrate approval I am offended.”
If one day on the other side of this madness, somebody wants to write a history of how the transgender movement domesticated the press, Exhibit A will be the way they leaped to obey each time a celebrity announced that he or she was switching genders and declared that they wanted to be addressed by the pronouns of the opposite sex.
“Madness” defines how the Vatican and robotic adherents cannot cope with medical science. Moreover, it is not obedience. It is support. It is common courtesy. The support and courtesy are required because of the crazy religious zealots who insist that up is down.
Furthermore, people do not switch genders and that is just the point. Transgender people affirm their gender because it is incongruent with their natal sex. It’s not that fucking complicated.
“Van Maren’s lunacy extends to attempting to make or influence the decisions of other parents he knows nothing about.”
Moreover, why is Van Maren obsessed with the sexuality of people that (a) his has never met and; (b) do not affect him in any way whatsoever? Sane, rational people do not act that way.
A half-assed attempt to explain toxic behavior:
There’s Ellen Page, who became Elliot Page overnight — “deadnaming,” or mentioning the name that everyone in the world knew the actress by until fifteen minutes ago, is considered cruel at best, and a crime at worst. The quirky female star of films like Juno is thus a “he,” and you are bigoted for asking questions.
In polite society — something that Jonathon Van Maren knows little about — we address people as they choose to be addressed. Not doing so is impolite. Mr. Van Maren is not a bigot because he “asks questions.” Mr. Van Maren is deemed a bigot because of a relentless attack on a vulnerable minority group.
Van Maren has written of transgender people: “This is a movement driven by mental illness and mutilation, and young people are signing up for it in droves.” That doesn’t ask any questions. That is sheer bigotry by any reasonable standard.
Moreover, it is gratuitous bigotry. It serves no positive purpose. It is unnecessary. If Van Maren has children (I hope he does not) and one suffers from gender dysphoria he can (unfortunately) make parental decisions regarding treatment.
“Van Maren knows a great deal more about Ms. Dorfman’s transition than I do. His is an unhealthy obsession.”
This month, it is 29-year-old Tommy Dorfman, the actor who plays the gay character Ryan Shaver on the Netflix Show 13 Reasons Why. The show has already courted controversy for dramatizing and glorifying teen suicides — data showed a 28.9% increase in youth suicides after the show was released — and won awards for explicit LGBT content. Now, one of male stars is a female star.
Ms. Dorfman is not the script writer for 13 Reasons Why. More importantly I thought this was about Tommy Dorfman; not the show she works for. Moreover, the show has never won awards for “explicit LGBT content,” whatever that is supposed to mean.
Just in passing, I thought that the teen suicide scene was a bad decision. However that was a production decision which had nothing to do with Dorfman. And, yes, Tommy Dorfman is now an actress. So what? Get over it!
According to Dorfman, he’s been “privately identifying and living as a woman — a trans woman” for a year now, during which he detailed his transition on Instagram. Dorfman posed for the now-obligatory post-transition photo shoot in a red dress (Bruce Jenner got dolled up for Vanity Fair; Ellen Page posed as a man for TIME).
I hate to keep repeating myself but: So what? Van Maren knows a great deal more about Ms. Dorfman’s transition than I do. His is an unhealthy obsession. Jonathon Van Maren needs some professional counseling.
“If people like Jonathon Van Maren would just shut the fuck up then demonstrations of approval would be unnecessary.”
And this guy is concerned about being labeled a bigot:
Trans is trendy amongst celebrities at the moment. In 2018, Cynthia Nixon announced that her daughter was “transitioning”; NBA all-star Dwayne Wade and his wife actress Gabrielle Union are raising their son Jackson as a girl; Walking Dead actor Khary Payton has said that his little daughter now identifies as a boy. Gender dysphoria, castration, mastectomies, and hormone therapy are apparently something to celebrate.
“Trendy” is dismissive. It also depicts a choice of gender identity. The only thing that has changed is the medical science. People are transitioning earlier in life than was the case in the past.
Tommy, of course, won’t be the last. There will be more, and we’ll watch the whole circus play out again. Star comes out as trans; celebrities rush to offer praise and gushing compliments on how “beautiful” they look post-surgery; the media will announce that we should be so proud of this person who is now a different sex; and then, on to the next story.
All that attention is terribly upsetting for Jonathon Van Maren. What is happening is that decent people are showing support and approval of, as well as respect for, a very public transgender person whose transition will be known by millions of people.
That is necessary because indecent people feel obliged to demonstrate their disapproval and disrespect of a very vulnerable minority. If people like Jonathon Van Maren would just shut the fuck up then demonstrations of approval would be unnecessary.
None of Van Maren’s ridicule makes any sense whatsoever.
