Brian S. Brown

Ever the grifter, Brian S. Brown will say just about anything if he thinks that it might generate dollars to his lost cause.

Brian S. Brown frequently attempts to link LGBTQ people to pedophilia in an effort to raise money for National Organization for Marriage. Friday’s money-grub is titled: rebranding depravity.

Thus far, NOM has avoided the Southern Poverty Law Center’s “hate group” designation. That could change and it would cost NOM more money than he hopes to raise with inflammatory language:

Just when you think that LGBT extremists have run out of previously taboo behavior that they think should be acceptable in today’s woke culture, they come up with something new to push. The other day a transgender professor proposed that society refer to pedophiles as “minor attracted persons” in order to protect their dignity.

There is much idiocy in that paragraph:

Just because someone is transgender doesn’t mean that they are an “extremist.” Brown is projecting as he is a Catholic extremist. Moreover, transgender persons are not allies of pedophiles.

Brown is referring to Dr. Allyn Walker who, until Wednesday, was a professor at Old Dominion University. Furthermore, he is a criminal justice expert with a doctorate from John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

“If Brown had sufficient curiosity, he might avoid looking like a bigger fool than he already appears to be.”

Dr. Walker has been cancelled, thanks to the many morons like Brown who have decided to attack a transgender person through any means at their disposal. In a joint statement with the university:

“My scholarship aims to prevent child sexual abuse,” Dr. Walker said. “That research was mischaracterized by some in the media and online, partly on the basis of my trans identity. As a result, multiple threats were made against me and the campus community generally. I want to thank Old Dominion University for giving me the opportunity to teach and to conduct my research, and the ODU Department of Public Safety for monitoring the threats against me and the community.”

Furthermore, this was not “the other day.” I wrote about this before. This noise stems from Dr. Walker’s best selling book which was published in June of this year.

“People who do send some dollars Brown’s way have been taken in by an accomplished con artist.”

If Brown had sufficient curiosity, he might avoid looking like a bigger fool than he already appears to be. Dr. Allyn Walker’s book is an important scholarly endeavor (highlight added):

Challenging widespread assumptions that persons who are preferentially attracted to minors—often referred to as “pedophiles”—are necessarily also predators and sex offenders, this book takes readers into the lives of non-offending minor-attracted persons (MAPs). There is little research into non-offending MAPs, a group whose experiences offer valuable insights into the prevention of child abuse. Navigating guilt, shame, and fear, this universally maligned group demonstrates remarkable resilience and commitment to living without offending and to supporting and educating others. Using data from interview-based research, A Long, Dark Shadow offers a crucial account of the lived experiences of this hidden population.

Furthermore, “minor attracted persons” and pedophiles are two different things. While a pedophile is attracted to minors, most people who share that attraction have never acted upon it.

Dr. Walker’s research is aimed at preventing child abuse. By removing the stigma of criminality, minor attracted persons are encouraged to seek therapy and to join support groups. Again, most of these people have done nothing wrong.

But none of the facts matter to Brian S. Brown. Brown’s objective is to denigrate a gifted transgender person while, at the same time, linking LGBTQ persons to pedophiles. That, in turn is intended to cause people to open up their wallets and donate to National Organization for Marriage.

“… ‘minor attracted persons’ and pedophiles are two different things.”

People who do send some dollars Brown’s way have been taken in by an accomplished con artist. Yet, it would be hard to feel sorry for them. Moreover, they are ignoring the simple fact that NOM has burned through nearly $100 million and has nothing to show for it. Meanwhile, Brian S. Brown has illicitly lined his own pockets.

Indeed, National Organization for Marriage doesn’t really do anything other than asking for money through anti-LGBTQ bigotry to continue doing nothing
